Education for Democratic Values in Israel
Background
The lab seeks to understand the causes of the decline in democratic values among younger generations, analyzing global, regional, and local processes. The research is based on a comparative approach, and combines international analysis, analysis over time, and assessment of socio-demographic variables.
Based on empirical and theoretical findings, the lab will develop educational models adapted to the Israeli context, and propose curricula and pedagogical approaches aimed at fostering civic commitment to democratic values.
In an advanced stage, the lab will implement educational pilot programs in collaboration with educational institutions and civic organizations, and conduct a systematic evaluation to measure their impact on students' civic attitudes and behavior.
By combining theoretical research, empirical analysis, and field application, the lab aims to offer an innovative knowledge base that will contribute to strengthening the democratic backbone of Israeli society.
