Dr. Rachel Z. Friedman is a Senior Lecturer at the Buchman Faculty of Law. She is a lawyer and political theorist by training, with a BA in social studies, a JD (law) and a PhD in political science – all from Harvard University.
She is the author of Probable Justice: Risk, Insurance, and the Welfare State (University of Chicago, 2020), as well as articles on the history of social insurance, contemporary theory and political economy of the welfare state, and Aristotle's political philosophy.
